Dr James Milne

Dr James Milne completed his medical training at the University of Cape Town in 1991 and specialised at Groote Schuur Hospital under internationally respected Dermatologists Professor Norma Saxe and Professor Gail Todd. He qualified as a Consultant Dermatologist in 2001 and shortly thereafter relocated with his family to the UK to join Gloucester Royal Hospital.

He has expertise in all general skin conditions and has special interests in skin cancer, inflammatory skin disease, vitiligo, vulval dermatology and skin lymphoma. He is currently employed by the Gloucestershire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and does NHS clinics at Cheltenham General, Gloucester Royal, Tewksbury, Moreton-in-the Marsh and Bourton-on-the-water Hospitals. He does private sessions at the Nuffield Hospital and Sk:n Clinic in Cheltenham.

For 6 years Dr Milne worked as the 3 Counties lead clinician for skin cancer and multidisciplinary cancer team chairman. He is currently lead clinician for the county NHS Dermatology team and involved in developing the primary and secondary care dermatology interface.

Dr Milne is also the medical director of the Sk:n clinic in Cheltenham. His areas of specialist interest at Sk:n include laser treatment of facial thread veins and other blood vessel disorders, pigmentary problems as well as mole and wart treatments. He has a particular interest in acne, rosacea and the red face as well as the treatment of acne scarring with medical needling.

He is passionate about dermatology and, with his colleagues, has been instrumental in developing a first class Dermatology service in Gloucestershire.
